A unique surface for pastels and coloured pencils! Pastelmat offers exceptional control, making it possible to create rich, painterly effects. Artists who work with pastels can enjoy new possibilities with a unique surface that holds pastel better than Ingres paper but is less rough than sandpaper. Artists around the world have found that Pastelmat “tames the pastel”, offering exceptional control over the medium.
About this product:
- Assorted colour sheets – 12 sheets in 4 different colours per pad;
- 360 g/m² weight – dense paper for layered work;
- Protective sheets – laminated protective sheets between each page of the pad;
- Cellulose fibre surface – the organic, velvety surface draws pigment deep in and holds it securely, so colours stay vivid;
- Painterly effects – the surface makes it possible to create soft strokes, blend pigments easily and precisely, and apply multiple layers while controlling colour tone and intensity;
- For fine lines – the velvety surface is well suited to detailed work;
- Easy to erase – pastel can be erased with a melamine foam sponge;
- Lower consumption – pastel sticks are used up 30% more slowly than on regular paper, and fixative is usually not needed;
- Liquid-resistant – suitable for washes with water or thinners, and for layering with alcohol and other solvents;
- Versatile – besides pastels and pastel pencils, it suits oil pastels, charcoal, coloured pencils, acrylic, watercolour and gouache;
- Non-toxic – acid-free, with a neutral pH.
